This Machine

This Machine generates a unique sonic correlation that is edgy and agile yet unwavering in groove. Their latest full length recording, 2009’s “Now That The Flesh Is Torn” is an unapologetic proclamation of nothing less than just that. Intricately piercing guitar riffs, tonally complex bass pulsations and, aggressively precise percussion culminate beneath a layer of vocals that shimmer with clarity and tremble with anxious rage. Based in southwest Virginia, This Machine’s live shows have spanned from their hometown scene to West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Kentucky. Key performances have included concerts with other independent bands supporting VH1’s Save the Music foundation and The American Cancer Society. Since its inception in 2000 This Machine has strived to establish their own original approach while challenging themselves as well as challenging what is anticipated and predictable. This Machine continues peruse the fine line between enigmatic simplicity and colloquial intricacy and stride it where ever it may lie.
