From the beginning, Canadian singer/songwriter, Kelly Sajda had a mature taste in music thanks to her parents. By age 8 she had already become quite familiar with the sounds of Jackie Wilson, Ray Charles, Luciano Pavarotti, and Stevie Wonder. Music became an important part of her life and eventually became her number one passion.
Born in Toronto to Danish and Polish/Canadian parents, the city's multiculturalism was a perfect fit for her. The myriad of influences around her helped to create her own style. Her upbringing was never short on culture or flavor. While in University Kelly had a light bulb moment - she had no interest in what she was studying. It was this landmark event where she said, "Let's do it!" The first day in the studio solidified her feeling and she realized her heart would lie in creating music. After positive feedback from family and peers, and some hustle to get people to listen, Kelly received elevated work ethic and confidence from the music industry.
Television producers came knocking on Kelly's door in 2007 and picked up three of her original songs. "Can't Change Me", "What a Trip" and "Shine On" were featured on the highly rated Canadian series 'Da Kink In My Hair'. In early 2008, Kelly ventured to New York City to solidify her ambitions and continue on her musical journey. This new inspirational city and creative playground was the perfect match to create new music. In a chance meeting with legendary DJ, Remixer & Producer Todd Terry a new partnership was born. With an instant bond and mutual respect, their collaboration created Kelly's soulful, dance sound.
