INGO STAAR

First rising to fame 7 years ago, Ingo was the teenage production guru that inspired a generation of young clubbers to make music in their bedrooms. His overnight success took him to all corners of the earth, as the synonymous Ingo sound blew up in 2000.

Naturally though, his tastes matured and in 2003 he made the decision to fall back from the scene that first showed him love. Out of the spotlight but still very much active, Ingo continued to engineer tracks for some of the UK’s biggest DJ’s, whilst using his own time to develop other skills, attending singing & song writing lessons & implementing a massive studio upgrade.

The final stage of this evolutionary process came in 2006 when Ingo set up his studio in Ibiza. He now spends his summer’s there, working with DJ’s and producers from around the world, absorbing international inspiration from the global epicentre of dance music.

Using production skills that come only through experience and having an acute ear for detail, Ingo’s sound moulds high-fashion minimal noises around big-room builds and life-threatening basses. Often laced with his own unique vocals, it’s the perfect combination of tension and energy. Sitting somewhere in-between Techno and House, recent releases on Underwater Records have prompted an army of fans, including Fedde Le Grand, D Ramirez and Darren Emerson. Along with his own productions Ingo is also co-writer and producer for some of the scenes hottest names including Mark Knight, Prok & Fitch (Stealth), Filthy Rich, Daley Padley. In the past year alone Ingo has been credited as engineer on over 90 house/electro releases on lables such as Ministry, Cr2, Toolroom, Underwater, Stealth, and Rising Music.

In fact, just hours after hearing Ingo’s ‘Stuck In My Head’ the Underwater head honcho had not only signed it, but had also set a date for a joint studio collaboration! Darren and Ingo have since written a selection of tracks together, including remixes of D.Ramirez – La Discotek and numerous songs for Darren’s forthcoming album.

As a promoter Ingo is one of the driving forces behind two of the Midlands most notorious parties, Moda and Digital. With guest DJ’s such as Annie Mac, Yousef, Switch and Justin Robertson, it’s easy to see why these brands have such a strong reputation.

With work on his new album commencing in January and a brand new 2000 capacity night starting in Leeds, 2008 looks to be one of Ingo’s most exciting years to date.
