"Feels like a hurricane blowin',
feels like the wind's gonna blow. Heard the thunder and lightnin', Even heard
the rooster crow".
This line from The Chicago Thieves'
"Don't Leave Me" sums up the band's core philosophy and electrifying live
performances. The five piece Sussex band has enough energy to power a small
fleet of motor vehicles. It's a fuel that burns full-throttle, ignited by the
heat of soulful vocals, soaring guitar riffs and a grooving rhythm section that
sets the house rockin' with power and passion.
The Chicago Thieves band is comprised of
Lead Vocalist/Lyricist/Blues Harpist Craig Giles, Guitarist/Vocalist Dan Giles,
Keyboardist James Batchelar, Bassist Dave Searle and Drummer Tony Still.
Formed in 2003, in Sussex, England, The
Chicago Thieves have entertained audiences all over Southern England, and have
released 2 independent CDs of their red-hot and bluesy compositions. The music
of The Chicago Thieves is deeply rooted in blues and blues-rock classics from
the likes of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Muddy Waters, Peter Green and Eric
Clapton alongside some of their own material, giving audiences of all ages an
exciting and personal concert experience whether in small venues or large
festival settings.
The Chicago Thieves are a very
well-rehearsed, well turned-out professional band, whose aim is to enjoy every
aspect of performing. They believe that their love for the music is the secret
to the audiences enjoying it too, which has translated into their performances
of the last two years being sold out, with fans waiting at the door to get in.
The Thieves have a strong core of loyal fans who attend their gigs, and with
the release of their latest CD, "In The Windy City" are adding to their fan base
daily.
As Phil Jackson, Host of South: Live on
BBC Radio said after a live on-air Thieves Performance, ""The Chicago Thieves
get you going like the first time you ever saw the Blues Brothers."
The Chicago Thieves have been featured
on BBC Radio as the winner of the Demo Panel contest, and also won the overall
"Best Blues Band" in the London-based Eel Pie Clubs Blues Quest. They have also
been a featured artist in the top British Blues Mag, "Blues Matters", naming
them as "The Hardest Hittin' Blues Outfit Around!".
