The Year That Was

It all started back in August 2008. Cotie founding member moved to Virginia Beach after he got done touring the summer. He then met Joey where they starting jamming and putting this together. Formally known as Oh No Detonator they set out to get a full band. Recruiting Steven on bass from former bands Cotie and Steven jammed in before.Joey had friends from Virginia Beach Andrew who took over drums and Brannon took on vocals. With a set line up now. Oh No Detonator now was in the works.



As time passed the band switched Joey to vocals and adding Eric on guitar. Brannon was no longer apart of Oh No Detonator. Then the big change came. Steven and Eric parted ways with the band to pursue school. Joey and Andrew had other musical interests leaving Cotie with a band with no members. Cotie set out to find a full line up again. Meeting Caleb who took over lead guitar. Caleb also brought in John on drums Thomas on vocals and Steven rejoined after he finished his semester in school.



It seemed as if this new line up was working well.until a few issues. Cotie moved away from Virginia Beach making it hard to be a band. As a band decision Cotie and Steven parted ways leaving the band they started. This wasnt easy for Cotie but he moved on. Caleb, Thomas, John pursued Oh No Detonator adding two Dan's from local band Celebrity Gunfight. Over the summer of 2009 they carried the name. It seemed as if they faded away near early fall.



Cotie moved back to Virginia Beach and got in touch with Caleb. They spoke of what it would be like to get the band back together. Thomas back on vocals. Cotie and Caleb on guitars and new drummer Anthony. After a few weeks of debating on musical differences Oh No Detonator called it quits.



Now we are here.Brannon, Cotie, Joey, Steven and Andrew all back together orginal members to reclaim what was drawn out through Virginia Beach that they started. With a new name.THE COMPETITION. look out for new things to come Summer 2010!!!
