The Giessen-Germany-based four-piece-combo THE TORNADO ROOSTERS was founded in spring 2006 by members of the former well-known local rockabilly- and nowadays teddy boy combo "Town Rebels". THE TORNADO ROOSTERS celebratin', no, they're "preachin'" a great mixture of 50's rockabilly-/rock'n'Roll, 60's rhythm & Blues, surfmusic + garagebeat; with THEIR versions of obscure covers, rare standards and TTR-Originals. Fall 2006: Their first disc, the EP-CD "RED ROOM SESSION", contentin' 6 unique hot TTR-Tunes, was released and several local German radiostations broadcasted TTR-songs. Surprisingly "So long" and "Nightmare" entered some free downloadcharts in Europe. In early 2007 drummer Eschat and guitarist C.J. Hochmuth left TTR due to personal reasons and to reunite the "Town Rebels" as a teddy boy combo, bassman Steffen Kirschstein-Freund had already quit in winter 2006 because he found a new job in Southern Germany. In June 2007 the Giessen-musicians Stefan Kraft (drums), Achim Kappeller (bass) and Joerg Helfrich (guitar) join the band. TTR is introduced by the well known german Surfmusic Magazine BANZAI!, who also put "Honeybunny Blues" on their "Compilation No. 16" while „RED ROOM SESSION" received a good review in the leading German-speaking Rock'n'Roll Magazine DYNAMITE in December 2007. In early 2009 bassman Achim Kappeller left the band and was replaced by Konrad Manz, another local musican; the new song "Hot Prague Woman" picked up for the nationwide sampler of DYNAMITE No. 58 while TTR mutated from Summer 2009 to Fall 2011 in a five-piece-combo with "The Rockin' Finn" Lasse Löytynoja and his twangin' guitar. In January 2010 the Hamburg Indie label T-Recs Music re-released their first disc "RED ROOM SESSION", while the guys recorded 5 brandnew TTR-Originals in March 2010. In Summer 2010 the band had already booked a club tour through Texas for their first shows stateside, but unfortunately they had to delay it. In August 2010 TTR again where on the latest sampler of the DYNAMITE!-Magazine with a furious, stunning new version of their 2006-song "So Long!". After another line-up change (Manz left the band in Nov. 2011), blistering'n electrifying Berlin gigs and other fine appearances (Austria, Eastern Germany) TTR is rockin', boppin' and shakin' stronger than ever !!!!
