The States: A Short History



2002 - 2004: The band forms in the basement of a Harvard dorm with the original lineup of Chris Snyder, Previn Warren, and Ian MacKenzie.

2004 - 2007: In an unprecedented move, the band moves to New York to make it big. Joe Stroll replaces Ian on drums. Debut album Multiply Not Divide released in 2005.

2007 - 2009: Sophomore album The Path of Least Resistance recorded and released. States nominated for Nobel Peace Prize. Pete Connors replaces Previn on bass. We Are The Erasers (and as-yet unreleased A Swan's White Neck) recorded in Nashville with producer Chris Grainger.

2010 - ?: Band goes on permanent hiatus.
