"The self titled debut EP from low slung, kinetic Melbourne rockers The Sparrows is a fiery entrance indeed and one to keep an eye out for.

From the first rebellious distorted rumbles of debut single Where Do You Wanna Go through to the manic crunch of closer Heroin Boy the EP contains just about every facet of what The Sparrows are about, what they can achieve and most importantly; where it is theyre headed.

Laced with generous lashings of 60s inspired guitar crunch, their harmony loaded rock-pop jangles where it should, belts you where it has to, spins you round twice and reefs off your blindfold. Get a piece of The Sparrows now; that way later you can say that you were there from the beginning."

ABOUT THE SPARROWS

In a world so over commercialised and sexed up its great when you come across some good old fashioned rock n roll, awesome trackscatchy as hellthis release is bound to lead the Sparrows to stardom, with the bands popularity growing quickly, youd better get ready for these boys

Tsunami Magazine

Garnering national groundswell as one of Australias premier emerging young bands, swift rising Melbourne four piece The Sparrows continue to fly from strength to strength. The group have just completed a run of shows opening for - no less than - INXS and Jimmy Barnes respectively. Two of Australias premier artists, the support slots are an indication of the certified buzz that increasingly surrounds the band.

So what is all The Sparrows commotion about; facts tend to speak for themselves:

§ In combination with a years worth of heavy gigging, the release of their self titled debut EP two months ago earned them airtime on the likes of Triple J, Nova, RRR and countless regional stations across Australia, blasting them into national consciousness.

§ Packing out venues up and down East Coast Australia, recent performances have included coveted spots at highly prestigious events such as the East Coast Blues and Roots and Apollo Bay Festivals

A true rock n roll band unafraid to show their roots; The Sparrows are often likened to blues influenced rock bands stemming from the 60s and 70s such as Humble Pie, The Rolling Stones, The Faces and Free. The recent departure of guitarist Dylan Boyd has seen acclaimed young six-stringer Vinny Daniele brought into the Sparrows fold.

A small taste of what national press have been saying about The Sparrows self titled debut:

As a debut EP you really cant get much better

Sexy swagger and rockin groove

Drum Media, Sydney

Totally accessible, jaunty and not too brazen with some ballads bordering on positively charming, I predict this name The Sparrows, will be bandied around a lot more on the live music circuit and our airwaves in the coming months
