Jay Briggs is a recording artist who has been playing out since 2003. He is currently the bassist of Vision Through Sound, and is the primary songwriter of The Sonitus Revolution. He was previously a member of Grrrl Friend, Bionic Senses, Long Island Drone Orchestra, The Mudsharks, Buzzards Over Baghdad and others. He also has been a regular contributer to Bdee’s many groups for years. He currently runs Sonitus Studios located at his house, the historic Jackson Estate in Wantagh.
-The Sonitus Revolution is an indie/garage/psychedelic rock band from Wantagh, NY. Formed in 2005 by Chris DiMaio (Synths, Piano, Organ, Bass) and Jay Briggs (Guitars, Voices), Sonitus has been compared to the likes of Joy Division molesting Mission of Burma and Yo La Tengo. With longtime Drummer Frank Federici manning the skins and Bassist Phil "Meatball" Montalbano thumping away in the current lineup of Sonitus, the band plans on recording an album with former member and co-founder Chris DiMaio to be titled The Sonitus Revolution. The band has previously released recordings on the indie labels Wrong Island Records and Dinosaurs in Vietnam.
Frank Federici has previously been a part of Panecea and Whocares and has been a member of the band since July 2006, appearing on all subsequent TSR studio recordings including "Rebirth". Chris DiMaio formed The Sonitus Revolution with Jay in 2005. He is featured on TSR's "There Is No One Way To Dance." In 2007, DiMaio played piano for Fastizio and is featured on their album "The Under-Aged Blood Crusade."Phil "Meatball" Montalbano was Bdee's bassist from 2005-2007 as a part of Bdee & Friends. He recorded bass for many of his songs and is featured on "Your Friendly Neighborhood Bdee". He currently fronts his own band Meatball and the Paraphernalia.
-This page is also the hub for Sonitus Studios, where Jason is the owner and operator with Will Forthman. Sonitus Studios is located at the historic Jackson Estate in Wantagh, NY, which was built in 1644. Jay is certified in ProTools, and is equipped with a DigiDesign rig and an Alesis X2 24 Track Mixing Board, he also has a bunch of vintage gear. Interested?
