Since forming in 2003, New York post-metal-rock chemists The SmashUp have seamlessly bridged genre gaps while building a strong foundation hinged on their DIY "do or die" philosophy. The band has toured heavily over the years with some amazing acts including Deftones, Megadeth, Lamb of God, Thrice, Underoath, As I Lay Dying, Thursday, Atreyu, Funeral for a Friend and Story of the Year to name a few. The SmashUp pride themselves on their energetic stage performance – one that has people talking after a show regardless of how they feel about the music. While the music is always at the forefront of a performance, the band appreciates the value of connecting with an audience both visually and emotionally as well. In addition, The SmashUp brings forth a willingness to step in and out of boundaries to display an array of different moods, sounds, and emotions that is well-represented in the upcoming release, "The Sea and The Serpents Beneath." The SmashUp's latest serving was produced & mixed by Andrew Schneider (Pelican, Cave In, Unsane) at New York's Translator Audio Studios, Brooklyn. The album is expected early 2010 via Eulogy Recordings (North America) and Glasstone Records (UK/Europe). copy code below & paste into your profile copy code below & paste into your profile
