Imagine the hot, restless dead-weight of the air the moment before a huge thunderstorm storm is about to break

now imagine the Sky About to Rain

Cocaine and roses

Lay across my bed

With Arizona radio

Trippin’ through my head

As Dwight once said:

I got bruises on my memory

I got tear stains on my hands

And in the mirror there’s a vision

Of what used to be a man

So I drank all of my wine and I took all of my things

my clothes, my cigarettes and I sold my wedding ring

tu difendimi dalle monotonie e banalità

I Am the Fuse

I am the blizzard, I am the snow

I am the river, I am the flow

I am the shadow, you’ll never know

I am the secret, you are the low

I am the powder you can’t refuse

I am the headline in your morning news

I am the chamber that you had to choose

I am the powder, I am the fuse

I am the fuse

I am the fuse

I am the fuse

I am the fuse

I am the red lights flashing in the rain

I am the siren born in a hurricane

I am the morning star upon your window pane

I am the warning, I am the flame

I am the outlaw, and I’ll catch you where you run

I am the terror in the barrel of a gun

I am the darkness in the world without sun

I am your sorrow when your working day is done

You are the word that’s been wasted on the page

You are the thief, imprisoned in the cage

You are the singer, frightened by the stage

You are the worker wedded to the wage

I am the water, whenever you are drowned

I am the pistol that never makes a sound

I am the lover who brings you to the ground

I am the man who always comes around

I am the fuse

I am the fuse

I am the fuse

I am the fuse

The wet dawn inks are doing their blue dissolve on their blotter of fog

From Scars

This music crept by me on the waters

Prelude

The slow, dark dusk settles in around here. Light dissolves. Color dissolves. Time dissolves. I am falling, falling back into those arms again and the whispers that were our lives.

Two hours later. The darkness drops again. I am sleeping in hot, fitful fever, high in my dreams on the charged, ionized, storm-about-to-break air that catches and stabs this room. Whether joker or thief I do not know, but both have fallen from grace in her eyes. There are memories on this bed, still warm and pungent, but now this bed has become a wilderness, a vast, open and arid plain, treeless and black. And upon the horizon of this bed I glimpse two riders, hooded and upon pale horses.

The wind howls.

We talked between the rooms

Until the moss had reached our lips

And covered up our names

oh senor

can you spare a dime?

oh senor

is it such a crime?

oh senor

have you got the time?

can you give me a ride

to the borderline?

Cause I been living on hope

i been living on hate

i been living on air

outside this heaven’s gate

and all the pretty people

you see them come and go

while i been sitting here

and watch the river flow

oh senor

oh senor

oh senor

I can dig your fields

and I can mind your kids

I can do your deals

I can fix your roads

I can mend your hearts

I can stitch your veins

When they come apart

I can bring you guns

I can bring you girls

I can bring you drugs

I can get you the world

Oh senor

You have had your time

Oh senor

And the future’s mine

Heaven’s gate
