Class is in session. This is Science 101.
Born and raised in Hollywood, CA, Science discovered his affinity for music at an early age. As of recent though he has been mixing up
potent combinations of hip-hop, electronica, and phunk in his laboratory known as the Haunted Mansion.
Simply put, the man is in a class of his own.
As a teen, he began writing and performing songs. He was a vocalist for several
short-lived bands that fizzled quickly, but left a lasting influence on his musical style.
Science started collaborating with friends in their small home studios and laid his
first few cuts down on a 4-track tape recorder. Getting a taste of sequencers and computer-based music software through a childhood friend is what set the wheels in motion. He discovered that it just might be possible for him to make an album that sounded professional, just like anything you'd pick up in a record store. But working around other people's schedules and the thirst for creativity with no limitations made it clear that he needed his own studio setup to write and record 100% original tracks on a spur of the moment basis.
He immediately purchased his first synth/sampler/sequencer.
After just a few short months, he had taught himself how to make his own music
from the ground up, and his producer alter-ego, The Phantasm, was born.
Now after several years of producing, mixing, and constant recording, Science
gathered enough resources to release and promote his first commercial album:
Uptown Midnite.
Released through the independent label Panther Entertainment , Uptown Midnite
features 12, painstaking crafted sure to be classics. The first single is entitled, "Day Without You". And features Robert Borque in a haunting, piano and guitar driven meditation on life and loss. It's a clear indication of Science's fresh approach to making music in a field that is starved for artists with a voice and a vision. This is clearly the hip-hop album we've all been waiting for.
Uptown Midnite will be available for purchase in March 2010 on Amazon, iTunes,
and other mainstream digital music avenues as well as physical copies available for purchase.
Science is also in the middle of producing a few other albums with several artist including, his cousin Poonskoon, Alias, and Socioo. All albums are set for release soon. As of lately he is also collaborating on songs with Hollywood Undead, Killtron, Hollywood Croc, Jesse Eaton, and more.
