Diary.

Saturday Memories are a melodic escape from the hard times of everyday life through the unleashing of emotions , anthems and toughts Saturday Memories share the same passion for heart-driven and melancholic punk rock The lyrics are most of the times extremely trasparent , emotive and poetic but sometimes are also full of rage and atttitude. They talk about memories, broken heart, everyday life. At the end of ‘90s PJ and Lizzo (friend since the age of 3) decided to create a band by the name of Whinny Puke. The first line up of the band was a power trio with the typical sound and punk attitude of the 90’s. PJ at the guitar and voice, Lizzo at the Drum and Jordy as bass player. Meantime PJ was playing also the bass with his second band called Crummy Stuff, one of the most popular punk Italian band of that period. During the first 2 years, the band played some shows in the local clubs. Their catchy liveset and the energy of their music allured a lot of guys that followed the band at every show. The PJ’s appearance on the stage with the Green Day during the Nimrod tour (he played together with Green Day the song “Knowledge” and he’s currently appearing in the Green Day video “Last Ride In” ) had favoured the popularity of the band during that period. The first 2 years of 2000 marked some changes in the band: Jordy left the band some months before the recording. PJ and Lizzo have been forced to carry on with their own forces and then they recorded the first EP called “Whinny Puke” , with only 2 pieces line up. After some good reviews in the local magazines the band started play live again with the new bassist Crem,. Then follow up a resultful period for the band: in the 2003-2004 they signed for an Italian booking agency called Funbox Soundboard (RIP) and at the same time they was sponsored by one of the most important clothing Italian brand: “Broke”. Early 2004 they played at World Cup of SkiCross and in some Skate Contests. In May 2004 they released the split album together with an all-girls American band called Same Day Service. They toured together in the Summer of 2004 through Italy and Switzerland , having a lot of fun and playing some great shows. The split CD was sold also during the Warped Tour . But the troubles were around the corner: Crem, the bass player preferred to continue with the University and leave the band. This has been a big problem because the band was in the middle of a fixed tour in Holland and Belgium. Pj and Lizzo were a duo again! They found a temporary substitute and they went to Holland and Belgium playing in some cool club like Nightown in Rotterdam and at Big Confusion in capital Den Haag , they conquered the Dutch guys too…. After this tour the band took some time reflecting on this new project and looking for the definitive line up. Pj craved for add new soundscapes and sonorities into the songs, a sort of personal reminiscent . Now a project born in a cold and small village of the north Italy: Saturday Memories Simon joined the band as bass player and the guys restart immediately the live performances. The band played on as three piece for a while, but felt something was missing. Then Diego arrived as guitarist , bringing new and different ideas into the new songs. After 2 months the ecleptic synthsizer player Jenny Star joined the Saturday Memories. She brought with her melodic and melancholic atmosphere giving to the band the complete sound they were searching for… Everything was shaped…. The Saturday Memories sound are powerful, melancholy, impressive and full of memories, a soundtrack to listen while landscapes passing by and while you think to your memories
