My band opening for Sheryl Crow in SLC



Jared Barney

Founder of ROCK UNIVERSITY:



For over 15 years, Jared has been making his living on the guitar. As lead singer and rhythm guitar player for the band Millhouse, Jared had many great opportunities to live in the national spotlight. Performing for crowds of over 20,000, the band opened for Sheryl Crow, Smashmouth, Strung Out and the Drifters. And while performing during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, they received national exposure on NBC to over 30 million homes.



Currently Jared is a songwriter and has had songs published for up and coming singers. His songs have also been heard on television and the radio.



But with all of his musical success, Jared’s greatest joy comes from teaching students to play the instrument he loves. He has been one of the most in-demand guitar instructors for over 12 years. In fact, in the last five years, it has been rare to find an opening in Jared’s schedule. He had more than a year waiting list for new students.



Jared's next musical adventure is ROCK UNIVERSITY opening in Draper, Utah in January of 2009. It is Jared’s goal to bring stellar music instruction and creative genius to the residents of Draper.
