Formed in 2002 in Belfast, the Remains of Youth endured years of line-up changes, finally settling as a four piece in 2006. Often compared to At the Drive In and Jimmy Eat World, the band are known for their explosive and energetic live performances. However this is never at the expense of good tunes!



A fine EP was recorded in late 2006, and extensive gigging followed its release. Unfortunately, members are currently engaged in other projects, so for now the Remains are in hibernation.

"the remains of youth are young upstarts with big ideas and although their sound seems to be very much in that fromative stage, its pretty fucking exciting; potentially the most exciting band Belfast has yet to fully embrace. They have the usual set-up plus saxophone, and their set consists of aggressive punk, introspective indie and discordant rock and roll. At times they are reminiscent of At The Drive In, Q and Not U, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Blood Brothers. Enough name dropping though- this is a band bursting with ideas,passion and energy; a band who have been sampling the delights of the Dischord roster and have produced some of the most exciting tunes of the entire festival."
