Qland was formed in January 2006. Long time friend Jules Brown was recruited by Quinn to play bass although he had never played one. The original bassist had left for the greener pastures of the Pacific Northwest and Jules' funky blues guitar style convinced Quinn that he was a natural. They went to the studio to record one song for a radio spot and ended up recording 11 tracks live in 5 hours. A month after its release, Qland's self-titled debut album was picked up by Renaissance Records out of Phoenix. Original drummer Jay Cockerham eventually left the band to play in Calling Tokyo, and that made way for Cain Conduff to appear. Cain was hired on to make a music video for the band. That video never happened, but it was discovered that Conduff could beat the hell out of the skins so he emerged as the band's drummer in 2008. Two west coast tours and a broken bus later, Qland is ready to record their second album with plans to spend a little more time in the studio.

while keeping a distinct melodic appeal." - Fayetteville Free Weekly
