The Pocket is a Washington, DC-based alternative-rock-reggae band with an authentic island sound.

Vocalist Omar Teitelbaum, Jamaican-born guitarist Terrence Brown, bassist Sean Meyers, drummer Brendan McCourt, and keyboardist Matt Wood intuitively fuse alternative rock, jazz, and hip-hop with off-beat skanks that are Jamaica-tested and crowd approved – guaranteed to move an audience to its feet.

The Pocket gained international respect in 2007 while on a 42-U.S. city tour with reggae icon Ronnie Davis of The Itals and at performances in Jamaica (Montego Bay, New Kingston and at the Western Consciousness Festival in Westmoreland). To date, The Pocket has performed with Roberta Flack, Third World, Norah Jones, Culture, Pato Banton, Beres Hammond, Culture, Freddie McGregor, and Wailing Souls, and at some of the best live music venues in the United States including the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO and Malibu Inn in Los Angeles. (Locally, The Pocket has also played State Theatre in Falls Church, Iota Club and Cafe in Arlington, Jammin Java in Vienna, and The National Cherry Blossom Festival [2009].)

The Pocket's acclaimed "Out of Many, One" album, mixed by Errol Brown (Bob Marley's main engineer), has seen international success. The three singles "Oceanside (Rooftop in Kingston)", "Steady" and "Lila Rose" quickly gained recognition and respect in Jamaica on both Irie FM and Zip in addition to college radio stations across the US.
