The Pinnakal

The Pinnakal is a native of Washington D.C. and currently resides is Northeast Washington D.C. He started rapping at the age of 9 in 1992. He has a strong musical background and is able to play 4 instruments (Piano, Drums, Congas, Timbales). His rapping style comes from the lyricism of the truest form of hip hop, but has a twist uncomparible to any other rapper. He is a producer as well being that he is a piano player. He has been through and seen alot in his life which inspired his deep thought rhymes. He does not rap about jewelry or frivolous things, he speaks on real issues of everyday life from the aspect of the average human being. His aim in this music is to reach heart, bring hip hop back and create a new music genre. He has worked with many local talents such as Mikey of UCB,Neal formerly of CCB, Mike of the Backyard Band, Loonatyk, Porche 9 11, Fatal Sinz, Fully Blount and has produced in the past for Wale. The Pinnakal thrives on being one of the only rappers who isnt afraid to be himself. In an interview he once stated "I don't try to be a gangster rapper cuz Im not a gangster, Im just a regular man. Ive seen alot and done alot but I refuse to glorify it, Im just myself. I refuse to sell my soul for a check, Im not a sambo. I make music to reach people and teach without over preaching. This is a revolutionary war through music" The Pinnakal is the former rapper of Rock Paper Scissors, Unlisted Band and the former keyboard player of High Gravity Band and Talk of the Town Band.
