DESCRIPTION:
Sweeping pink noise has a slow shifting of tone cycling up and down every couple minutes.
The effected Pink Noise has an immersing effect and is calms in its meditative repetition. Other listeners say just sounds cool. It's an electronic spin-off of noise found in nature like waterfalls and ocean waves. When listening on headphones the, waves surround and take the listener away and perhaps making the world seem a bit different upon return.
The creation process involved a DAW (digital audio workstation), ProTools. A audio signal generator was utilized to create noise which is then equalized to represent the audio spectrum responses of pink noise as defined by the broadcast industry in the early-mid 20th Century. The audio is recorded from the generator for 10 hours. This audio has an equalizer inserted which I programmed with a mid-frequency boost and width of about 1/2 octave. This boost frequency was then programmed to shift over time with a reoccurring period around 30 seconds. The exported into a video editing program, Magix Vegas. A corresponding video is created with custom graphics I made in the video program. The visual is animated, then married to the audio and rendered out to the full length final video.
