The People

Today the members of The People have decited to go their separate ways after a peaceful meeting. The People would like to thank all those who supported the band through the years. It has been 6 fantastic years with a cd-release and fabulous concerts in front of an enthusiastic audience.



It's been an exciting journey, which now sadly has come to an end. Thanks to all those who believed in us.



The People (2003-2009)



The People are one of the Danish music scene’s best kept secrets; purveyors of soulful, powerful, and often deeply-moving music, who’s blistering live shows leave their audiences breathless. The People create a vibrant warm-inspired sound well suited for stadium rock and alternative rock fans alike.



Originally, the group was formed in Copenhagen (2003) by former schoolmates Nicolai Villum Jensen (vocals), Hans Grølsted (guitar), Martin Nielsen (bass), and Rasmus Schebye (drums). After spending several years in London, Morten Steingrim (keyboard) returned to Copenhagen to find that his former schoolmates had formed a band. Morten agreed to join the band, and under the name; The People, they began years of intensive rehearsing. After playing a handful of small club gigs, bass player Martin Nielsen parted ways with the band, with Elad Dorry taking his place in 2005.



“Crystal Days” is the name of the debut album. “Crystal Days” was released in February 2009, on HPF MUSIK record label. First single “Angels never die” is getting airplay on a major radio station (DR P4) in Denmark at the moment.



If you take the fast growing audience, this is the band to watch out for in the future. The music from the people is just as noisy as it is beautiful and flamboyant. A strong belief in the music combined with easily recognizable chorus defines The People. The group is currently working on their second album. An album planed to be less retrospective, and more up-tempo and futuristic.
