From AllMusic.com:
La La (La Forrest Cope) was one of the 1980s' most successful urban contemporary songwriters. She did so well supplying material to Kashif, Lillo Thomas, Melba Moore, Glenn Jones, Giorge Pettus, Whitney Houston, and Bernard Wright that she was finally given her own solo contract. But La La wasn't as distinctive or exciting as a vocalist, and by the time this album rolled around, she'd left Arista and joined Motown. Her luck wasn't any better with them; for whatever reason, the songwriting magic she displayed when doing material for others seemed to disappear.
