Social Anxiety began as an idea in Sun City, CA in 1999 of current lead guitarist Bryan Flores and his long time friend Tyler finnochio (former bassist for the Boot Troops). Named for one of Bryans several social disorders, as well as the commonly anti social views of the, then, line up; The two wrote songs in Tyler's dimmly lit, unkept bedroom for months, eager to form a band and perform shows for their friends who would later come to make up about a 3rd of the Riverside county punk scene. In the summer of 2000, Bryan and Tyler met Brandon Narcese. Brandon was a fellow punk fan and an experienced vocalist who was also eager to perform. Shortly after they were introduced to then drummer, Harvey Hernandez and soon began performing at small partys in the area. Although the original line up were only together for about a year and a half, many have said that they were in part responsible for bringing what had been a forgotten sound back to the attention of the youth of the Sun City area. About two years went by since the band had broken up when Bryan met current rhythm guitarist Travis Eaves. Both being guitarists and sharing a passion for punk rock, they began writing and very shortly after came up with what songs are now known as "The Youth" and "Question All". Pleased with the outcome of their writing sessions, the two began searching for a drummer and a bassist. While in pursuit of a drummer, Bryan met current bassist Missy Darnell while taking a walk down Florida Ave. in Hemet. Both being musicians and seasoned party goers, the two quickly became friends and it wasn't long before Travis befriended her as well, however Missy wouldn't become the bassist until later on. Nathan Gilman was introduced to the band a few months later by Chris Chappa of Victims Of Society. Travis and Bryan had been seeking a drummer for a while by then and Nathans name had been mentioned to them several times before. It seemed to be the popular opinion that Nathan would suit the band the best because he enjoyed the same kind of music and would be the most familiar with the style they wished to play. It was immediately apparent at Nathan's audition that the rumors had been true and the three (Travis, Bryan, and Nate) began writing together right away. In the process of their writing it was brought to their attention that they still didn't have a bassist, it was at this time that Missy decided to trade in her six string for a four and stepped in as the bands bassist. Though the band has endured several line up changes and a few involuntary break ups (because Nate couldn't stay the fuck out of jail) They've managed to tough out their problems and continue to perform to this day.
