"Though my mother may have had good intentions, that's all they turned out to be, as the Fed's busted down the door of our crib. They arrested her on drug charges, and left my sister and I in the custody of the system."-- SLIM

When Slim fell in love with Hip Hop, he was nowhere near the parks and housing projects plagued with broken glass that pushed Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five to the edge. It was from the sidelines of a more rural landscape. Hip Hop had already reared regional roots of expansion with the likes of Outkast, 8Ball and arguably every purists first pick as best rapper to ever bless the microphoneTupac. However, this Floridian based emcee is not removed from what Melle Mels 6-minute message intended. In fact, hed rather burn all his rhyme books and wire his jaw shut before stepping to the mic to rhyme about nothing.

Slim decided eleven years ago that being an emcee had to be more than a hobby. Putting words together just to match wasnt something he wants to be known for. Having heard enough party and bullshit, Slim wants to enter the game at his bestpainting landscapes vivid enough to change the mindset of consumers who believe rappers from Da Bottom can only rhyme using synonyms describing a womans cinnamon posterior. Simply put, he has a lot more to sayeven if he whispered.

Having been granted a degree in experience, Slim is a realist who crafts each line with the intention of communicating, connecting and educating the masses without waving the banner of a conscious rapper. He writes life music from his heart and soul. Sparked by the initial creativity and wordplay of emcees who hailed from the Golden Era, and marred by the overwhelming lack of originality and meaning since, Slim believes he will bring balance back to the industry. Armed with passion, hunger and confidence that rival the most established emcees of our time, this lyricist is determined to affirm his career and become rappers favorite emcee. Having already established himself as a force to be reconed with, he will be two-thirds of the way toward his goal by the time you finish reading this. He simply cant wait to grab the mic and let you see for yourself.

The last album -- produced by Adam Schiffman, Jeff Cange, SLIM and also featuring the production talents of KIRV from Dre's camp -- is sure to bring the heat and prove once again why the south is holding it down. Brick Or A Grammy, which also features production by Kirv of Dr. Ore's Aftermath Entertainment are "chapters of my life," describes Slim. "It's all or nothing with this album." The first single, "Gone Do What You Do," is an anthem, urging all listeners to stay true to yourself. Slims mantra is, Up your game, or get out the game.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
