Driven by the streets of San Francisco and a long love for Good Punk Rock, The NightCrawlers SF deliver that sound you can play loud at yer mother with the door locked behind ya. Late 70's Garage Hell meets Southern California early 80's Chaos. The kind you can shake a leg to while gettin a kick in the gut dose of Noise Noise Noise. Formed early 2003 by Dave"Nowhere"Marriott, first guitarist of Hollywood Hate, with Cuckoo's Nest partner in crime Johnny Trenchcoat met up with Cheryl Ossola, Guitarist of all girl SF Punk quartet Squat, who's moves on stage even makes Poison Ivy wet with Envy.



San Francisco's scene is finally changing, "After all the clubs in SF closed up due tho the .COM bullshit which reminded me of growin up OC/LA in 1980 where same kinda shit happened, but back then it was cops, jocks and neighbors that got us shut down at places like The Cuckoo's Nest Costa Mesa Calif." Dave say's "Finally SF had no more fuckin clubs or scene. The Goddamn yuppies bought up all the clubs and sucked the VERVE right out of the city. So The NightCrawlers and other local bands around us in the city's scene look to stir shit up again. Now that theres a few decent clubs to play in the bay area and is set to lite shit on fire."



The NightCrawlers SF have shared stage with punk rock greats such as The Exploited, The Weirdos, Shattered Faith, The Skulls, The Partisans, The Stitches, Total Chaos, Pistol Grip, The Lewd, and many others.

The NIGHTCRAWLERS SF play a tight old school sounding punk rock that seems to owe as much to the SEX PISTOLS as it does L.A. bands like SOCIAL DISTORTION or ADOLESCENTS. They feature Ex- HOLLYWOOD HATE/INFESTED Guitarist Dave Marriott, as well as Cheryl Ossola from one of the most underrated bay area bands ever; SQUAT.

The copy of this CD that I have isn't really an official release. If you do see a version of this in stores, pick it up and if you are a label, you might want to snatch this band up. (JC)

It isnt everyday that we are subjected to true punk rock.

Sure, there are countless would bes and have beens which have hailed from the Bay Area, but the Night Crawlers have made quite a name for themselves by becoming the next big thing out of the Bay Area.

Their extraordinary combination of early 80s and 70s garage sets them apart from countless other punk bands stemming from the heart of San Francisco. As if playing with the likes of Total Chaos, The Skulls and The Exploited wasnt enough to get them noticed, SF Weekly also acclaimed them to be One of the most exciting new lives acts to hit the San Franciscos Punk RocknRoll scene. With a leg spread stance and a blur of the pick hand, the left side of the stage drips with sex female guitar power.

Recently chosen as one of San Franciscos favorite live performances, The Night Crawlers have proven that it doesnt take much to take over the world. Crediting life as their main inspiration, they claim that If you could see the scum in the streets of the city and the thoughts in my head it wouldn't take long to figure that one out. By creating a style of old school punk rock original to their taste and talent, they have picked up fans all over who have been salivating for a taste of some good ol punk music. And of course, it doesnt hurt that they have a hot chick rockin on the guitar.

THE NIGHTCRAWLERS - Angel Alley:



I first heard these on a compilation put together by Duane Peters then I bumped in to these guys on My Space and within a fortnight I have their debut album sitting in front of me.



What do I think? This album is the tops and the band should be very proud of it. My only complaint is there weren´t enough tracks - It leaves you lusting after more music. Fave tracks for me are ´Breakloose´ (the opening track), ´Sick Friend´, ´Livin´ In My Head´and ´Givin´ In´.



If hard Punk Rock N Roll is your thing then The NightCrawlers really do deserve to be in your CD player. The way them instruments are used is awesome and the vocals just fit in nicely. It´s great and this is a band that do deserve a listen.



Production wise is excellent as they had Kerry Martinez from the US Bombs twiddling the knobs. Now if you still aren´t convinced go and have a listen to some of their MPS´s here. (Self Financed) Rates a 9 out of 10 - DIY STEVE
