The Next was formed in February of 2006 out of two former bands, Vertigo and the band Showtime. Together Joe, Ben, John and Jose wanted to create a band that performed music by artists who influenced them such as The Police, Steve Wonder, Maroon 5, Billy Joel, John Mayer, and Jason Mraz.
