MORE ABOUT THE BAND.

The Misteriosos are really a bunch of freaks who finally get to play the music they always wanted to, which is some kind of psychedelic rock n roll. With influences like early Pink Floyd, The Velvet Underground, Opal, and The Butthole Surfers, the band managed to play their first show as finalists in The Little Steven Contest in Boston. Relieved that they did not win the contest, since the reality that the band only knew two songs at the time would have been exposed, the band fled to Philadelphia. They released their debut album (12 songs) to great reviews, and have been playing regulary around the east coast, sharing the stage with notable and diverse bands such as The Blue Van, Soledad Brothers, Soft Explosions, Le Nombre, Diamond Nights, and SSM. They have found a large following playing New York City regularly.

The Misteriosos music is played on many college, national, and international stations, including KCRW and Sirius Satelite Radio. The band has played played live studio sets at WFMU, WPRB, and WKDU, and their new release was included on two Top 10 Albums of The Year lists on WORT (college radio).

The single "West of Nowhere" is included on Get Outta Philly (Tick Tick Tick Records). "7 Years" is included in the documentary film "Greeting From Asbury Park, now airing on PBS, and will be included on the film's forthcoming soundtrack. In addtion, The Misteriosos cover of The Fuzztones "Shes Wicked" is included on the Fuzztones tribute CD (Sin Records).
