Bio



Around the same time in early 2003 as worlds first cloned sheep Dolly died, The Millioners was born. It all started in a shady session which took place at an old warehouse in Helsinki, Finland. Young men with different musical backgrounds came together as one. Our fields of expertise ranged from hippy folk and progressive rock to androgynic pop and hip hop.



At first our music was bouncing all over the place. But, as time went on and the gatherings continued, we started to focus more and more to dance music. We like to call it disco music. But its not some shitty disco you can rollerblade into and wear a stupid wig. We like our disco dirty. Like italo disco, which is a big influence for us. Kano, Cerrone and so on. French acts such as Daft Punk, Serge Gainsbourg, Michel Polnareff and Alan Braxe have also inspired The Millioners a lot.



Our first two years were spent writing songs and sometimes performing live in clubs around Helsinki. In spring 2005 we caught up the attention of record label Suomen Musiikki. And before we noticed, our first 12" EP titled Up To You was relesed in that same year.



With a record deal in our pockets we started to put together an album. But there were some obstacles in the way. One of four members got stuck in Japan for seven months and the guitarist decided to move to country side for a year to step his folk game up. But in march 2007 after endless studio sessions we finally finished our debut album Most Sexiest Music. It has had controversial critics but the audience seems to like it. The saga continues.
