THE MIASMICS HAVE BEEN ON HIATUS SINCE JANUARY OF 2006. Due to lack of time and other creative juices flowing. The members have gone separate ways to create some of their own special vibes for this world. Those things include, The Defending Champions (Dean, Matt, Shooby), Stephanie White and the New Jersey Philth Harmonic (Robbie, Chris, Shooby), searching for a cure for cancer (Steve) and shaping the minds of young children through music (Drew).
Everyone is super busy. The last time the band was on stage together as a full unit was at Robbie's senior recital @ William Paterson University on May 11th, 2007. It was a one time only deal with a string quartet accompanying the band! A really incredible experience for everyone who attended. Okay, now onto the bio!
The Miasmics are a 6(sometimes 7,) piece band from northern NJ. They play an eclectic mix of ska, rock, funk & reggae that continues to win over fans of all ages, while strong musicianship and an 8-year history of playing together make them one of the finest live bands around. In 2003 they placed 2nd overall out of 192 bands to earn a top slot at the Skate & Surf Festival in Asbury Park, NJ. Later that year they were featured on the 4-disc ska compilation entitled "Still Standing", which is receiving lots of good reviews and also features songs by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Buck-o-Nine, Forces of Evil, Let's Go Bowling and lots more. After over a year of hard work, the band has just recently released their 2nd full-length album, "You Just Gotta Trust It", which was recorded with ska legend King Django at Version City studios and is without a doubt their strongest musical offering to date. Additionally, the band was invited to join a date of this summer's Warped Tour.

A special thank you to everyone who has come out to the shows, taken pictures of us at shows, bought something from us, written about us, played us on their radio stations, interviewed us, created artwork for us, covered one of our songs, left a comment or message on this page or simply told their Uncle John about us (because let's face it, almost everyone has an uncle named John). That all means a lot to us and we can't thank you enough.
