The Maytals Band - Live - Obessa
The Maytals Band Live - Divine Substance
Toots and the Maytals fans around the world. The Maytals are working on another project called “The Maytals Band” (TMB) featuring Leba Hibbert (Toots' daughter) singing lead vocals. This longtime musical family has been bringing down the house with the inspirational Toots Hibbert for many decades.
The members of TMB are no stranger to hit records. Together they have played with musical giants such as Bob Marley and the Wailers, The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Eric Clapton, Ben Harper, Al Green, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Cliff, No Doubt, Jack Johnson, Trey Anastasio, Bootsy Collins, Rachael Yamagata, Ryan Adams, Jacob Miller, Robbie Shakespeare, Bunny Wailer, Gregory Isaacs and many more.
TMB is just about to release their debut album - “Project.” The songs “Missing You” (John Waite / Tina Turner) and “Open Arms” (Tina Turner) captivate the crowd as Leba Hibbert’s soulful voice fills the room with an unassailable conviction. "Blue for You" sports the infectious bass lines of the great Jackie Jackson, while Carl Harvey sings lead vocals and demonstrates his mastery of lead guitar.
“Project” features the expressive talents of keyboardist Charles Farquharson, whose rhythmic, high-energy grooves embody the true spirit of reggae, rock and blues.
Calling them “Rocksteady” is an absolute understatement when experiencing the powerhouse rhythm trio of Jackie Jackson, Dougie “Rad” Bryan, and Paul Douglas, who together have helped create the foundation of modern reggae. These longtime friends deliver a familiar sound on “Project” that fans have come to know and to crave.
TMB mix reggae, funk, blues, jazz and pop into grooves that are modern and refreshing while staying true to their roots. “Project” is destined to be a hit. Check back to find out more information about the album release date and further TMB updates. www.themaytalsband.com
