M?N†? R?Y? is born in 2000, in Argentina. Mecha, George and Quique knew eachother studying Visual Arts in Mar del Plata city. At that time, 1998, they played in different bands. This is how they shared their art and gigs and parties sometimes After a while, destiny and the same love for music brought them back toghether. And they had no other choice but to do what they like the most to Rock!!
They've played in every single place they could. From the smallest shitty underground bar to big venues, clubs and festivals.
In march '07 Manta Raya was selected by Paste Magazine & Coca Cola Company to be one of the independent artists promotted at Coca Cola's website.
Finally their new album "Yeah!" was released in October 2007. Produced by Manta Raya.
Mixed by MantaGeorge & Luciano Siclari. Mastered by Luciano Siclari. Supported by UMI ( Independents Musicians Union ).
And one week after the release, they started their first European Tour performing in Berlin, Hamburg, London, Paris & Guadalajara
In October 2007 the band was selected by Berlin's B2 Magazine (DE) for the "Ubersoundz Vol.1" compilation.
In 2008 Manta Raya participated in the "Offline Vol.1" compilation by Sonica (AR), and the Surf DVD "Influir" from Argentina.
In march 2009 Manta Raya made their first tour to Chile after releasing an EP with remixes from their first album "Yeah!", the EP is free for download at their website, and it includes remixes by Beat Eat Bones (FR), Tyskerhar (DE), Canu (AR), Frau Langsam & Ryan Web (DE), Thrills (USA), Acampante (AR), The Louder Lads (AR) and Manta Raya themselves.

M?N†? R?Y? nace en el año 2000 en Argentina. Mecha, George y Quique se conocen estudiando Artes Visuales en la ciudad de Mar del Plata. En ese entonces, año 1998, tocaban en diferentes bandas y de esta forma compartian su arte y escenarios en algunas ocaciones Despues de idas y vueltas, el destino y el amor por la musica, los volvieron a juntar. Y no tuvieron otra opcion hacer lo que mas les gusta rockear! Han injertado su estilo en los shows en vivo y han hecho su sonido a mano a una punta fina. En marzo '07 Manta Raya fue seleccionada por Paste Magazine y Coca Cola Company para formar parte del grupo de artistas independientes promocionados en el sitio oficial de Coca Cola. A mediados de Octubre 2007 editan su primer album titulado "Yeah!", con el apoyo de la Union de Musicos Independientes. Producido por Manta Raya, mezclado por George Manta y Luciano Siclari, quien tambien estuvo a cargo del mastering. Y ese mismo mes, luego de ser declarados por la Secretaria de Cultura de la Nacion como artistas de interes cultural, realizan su primer Tour por Europa presentando su album en ciudades como Berlin, Hamburgo, Londres, Paris, Barcelona y Madrid / Guadalajara. En octubre 2007 Manta Raya es seleccionada para participar del compilado "Ubersoundz Vol.1" producido por la revista B2 de Berlin (DE). En 2008 participan del compilado "Offline Vol.1" producido por Sonica (AR), y tambien incluyen tracks de la banda en el DVD de Surf "Influir" realizado en Mar del Plata, AR. En marzo 2009 Manta Raya realiza su primera gira por Chile junto a Acampante y el VJ Pacheco, y al regresar producen un EP de remixes, "Remix My Ass! Vol.1", con la participacion de artistas y djs de varios paises como: Canu (AR), Beat Eat Bones (FR), Tyskerhar (DE), Frau Langsam (DE), Bezzi (BR), Thrills (US), entre otros. El EP esta disponible para descargar gratis. Manta Raya compartio escenarios con Crystal Castles, No Bra, Boys Noize, Yesterdays Pupil, Van Coke Cartel, Ganpol & Mit, Tyskerhar, Plateau Repas, Acampante, entre otros. Actualmente, la banda se encuentra grabando el material de su nuevo album que saldra a la venta a principios de 2010.

NOIZE MAKES ENEMIES REVIEW:
Maradona, dirty tackles, knocking England out of the world Cup, cool new rave bands….cool new rave bands?! No, not normally one of the things that spring to mind when you think of Argentina, that was until Manta Raya came along mind!
These three visual arts students who got together in 2000 have grafted their way up the live show ladder and crafted their sound to a fine point. With a debut album entitled 'Yeah!' immanent, the timing couldn't be better as it will catch the new rave wave at its crest.
Where CSS have succeeded, surely Manta Raya will follow. With a very similar sound but bags more Peaches-esque attitude and a sex-on-a-stick front woman who would steal Lovefoxx's groupies all day long with just one pout!
Shit hot songs with deep sexual tones, portrayed so sensually by front woman Mecha, it's enough to make you fall in love with her at first listen "he can fuck, I love the way he kiss and plays guitar" Their sound has more attitude than B.A. Barracas on a bad hair day. Deep, grimy techno synths and seething guitars, head bangingly catchy drum machine beats and sullied bass lines.
If their demos are just a taster, then their full album 'Yeah!' should catapult Manta Raya to the top of the new rave league. Forget what CSS told you, don't "make love and listen to death from above", make love and listen to Manta Raya! Like Diego's hand through an English defence, their coming and no one's gonna stop them!
