London PX were a punk band formed in 1979 by some bored teenagers in North London. Cliff Hanger (the singer) slightly older at 22 was discovered in the George Robey pub in Finsbury Park standing on the pool table singing Angelic Upstarts songs. Some gigs followed and their first single "Orders" was released in the summer of 1981, reaching No.10 in the independent charts. By summer 1982 the band had fragmented as a result of half the band leaving. However, later that year, guitarist Mitchell Wells and bassist Dave Yole carried on and their second single, a red vinyl flexidisc, was released in November 1982 - a cover version of that great early Pink Floyd song "Arnold Layne". After a final gig in November 1982 and a last rehearsal on December 30th 1982, the band was no more. Now, 30 years later, there is more interest in the band than ever - there is to be an 'anthology' LP of all that was recorded which will be released soon by Italian label Pure Punk Records. In addition Pure Punk Record have reissued Orders in a limited edition blue vinyl 7".
On July 14th 2007 London PX got together for the first time in 25 years. The band have now officially reformed. They played their first gig in 26 years at London's 12 Bar Club in March 2008. They next played at the Rebellion punk festival in Blackpool in August 2008
