The Liptones

Myspace Layouts by Pimp-My-Profile.comThe Liptones story begun in Tidaholm 1997 when singer and guitarist Mo Broden and bass player Marten started "Monk" a 2 piceband that played a very fast version of ska. Both Mo and Marten came from the punk scene. Interested in to play something completely different, but not with the lack of any attitude, ska was the obvious choice! Soon Mos old band mate and drummer Kaka joined forces and they changed their name to The Liptones! They played a few gigs but you can't have a skaband a without horns so trumpet youngster Snick and the mighty saxophone god PA came in and gave The Liptones that good ska feeling that they needed! Now The Liptones were ready for some serious action and started to get a reputation as a good liveband, but something was missinga Hammond organ of course! Now playing Hammond instead of drums, Henke got the job and in the spring 2000 The Liptones were complete. A few demos were recorded before Swedish Skalabel A.M.T.Y Records signed The Liptones and full-length album "Latest News" was released in 2002 followed up by the Ep "Espandrillos" in 2003. A split single with their good friends The Bustups was also released in 2005. The Liptones is now considered as one of Sweden's biggest skabands and with many tours in Sweden and Europe they have a strong reputation as a hell of a live act! Their latest record "In English" is a step further into their big influences in the 2-Tone scene like Madness and The Specials! Soeverybodys welcomeEnjoy theLIPTONES!!
