We're a ska/reggae/punk band from Manchester UK. Think awesome guitar shredding, phat brass lines and a uniquely distinguishable vocal sound combined with radical politics and a hell of a lot of partying and you're about halfway there.

I had the pleasure to see this lot at an all-dayer not long back, in a squat in Greenwich, and they were sufficiently impressive for me to blag a copy of their previous CD—a split with Harijan—from them (note: blag, not buy; I’m a myoosic journalist or at least some semblance of one, not a mental, you know). This rather splendid 5-track EP shows a significant improvement in their Sublime-esque ska-pop-rock since their previous opus, albeit not quite to the standard of their live show. Still, I defy anyone to prevent their toes tapping to songs as easily likeable as opener ‘Knocking On Wood.’ It seems that these John Player Specials, at least, are rather good for your health. “Written In Stone”. This bad boy has a great acoustic guitar riff and a fat bass line that pulses through your brain and gets all up in your bones.

A really, really enjoyable CD that surely will be one of my year end favourites. I rate this band very highly and adore the pace of their songs as well as their live shows. Simplistic but mightily effective and one of the best ska CD's around. A debut effort that promises of some truly outstanding stuff to come. Truly excellent!
