The Invincible Czars are an adventurous six piece rock band from Austin, Texas performing composed instrumentals and rock songs, new scores for silent film and their own take on classical music such as "The Nutcracker Suite" and "Night on Bald Mountain". The group also scores/performs music for new films, most recently John Estrada's "Taco! Taco! Taco!" (2009) which was funded by HBO.
The Invincible Czars have recently started performing acoustically/quietly in smaller numbers and calling themselves The Invincible Czars Trio (since it started as a trio within the band) performing klezmer tunes, tangos, classical pieces, standards, originals and cover songs.
The band has performed at a wide variety of genres over its 8 year existence including Houston's Discovery Green, Austin's Holiday Stroll, Austin's Trail of Lights, The Alamo Drafthouse (Ritz, South Lamar, West Oaks and Lake Creek), Stubb's Barbecue, OKMozart!, SxSW, The Parish Room, The Wortham Center Foyer, Whole Foods Headquater's, Austin Children's Museum, Central Texas Medical Center, Emo's, Rudyard's, Walter's on Washington, The Boiler Room, Hailey's, Lola's, The Longhorn Saloon, The Continental Club, Mohawk and many more throughout their region.
They have also collaborated with Ballet Austin for the last 5 years on Nutcracker related events.
They have also been chosen as regional support by Estradasphere, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and Stinking Lizaveta on Texas/Southwestern tours.
The group was very proud to sell out the Alamo Ritz in Austin on Feb 28, 2010 with a performance of their latest silent film project "The Unknown".
