The Indikation were formed a cold December day in 1999 when local hustler Dr. Mongo introduced the guys to each other in a seedy bar in downtown Oslo and gave them some instruments and a offer they couldn't refuse.
The group was then Per Øydir (organ), Frode Skjold (lead vocals, guitar), Thomas Jamt Roaas (drums, backing vocals), Christian Brødsjø (bass).
A couple of months later a young chap named Peder Bernhardt showed up and began to sing backup vocals and shake a tambourine. Then they were five. These five young hipsters released a single (Tu manipule ma tet/Jaqueline/Indikation ye ye) on the french label Larsen Records. The songs were recorded at their rehearsal studio late 2000. Another song (by my side) from that session ended up on a split single with Larsen Magazine.
The next session took place at Toe Rag stuidio in London in march 2002. The six songs that were recorded with Liam Watson as producer were released as a single (Yes I do/Ain't that love) on the german label Screaming Apple Records and an ep (Don't send us no flowers) on Larsen records. In July 2003 they went back to Toe Rag to record what became the lp "In terms of The Indikation". The Italian label Teen Sound Records released the lp after hearing the group at the Beat Fever festival in Verona.
In Juli 2004 Peder left the group to form his own band Peter Berry & The Shake Set. Five months later Christian also left the group. He is now studying martial arts in Japan . In February 2005 the guys bumped into Petter Svee, who became the new bass player. January 2007 the fun was over and the band decided to call it a day.
Other groups linked to The Indikation: Peter Berry & The Shake Set, The Mobsmen, The Goomen, Edorf Dlojks.
