****ATTENTION WORLD. THE HUMANITY HAVE DECIDED TO KILL EACH OTHER BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T BEAR THE THOUGHT OF SEEING EACH OTHER ANY MORE. I AM WRITING THIS AS THEIR MANAGER AND I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT THAT JUSTIN KILLED LAURA IN THE FACE WITH A SPADE, JOSH WADED IN WITH AN UZI, SHOT JUSTIN DEAD BEFORE TURNING THE GUN ON HIMSELF BECAUSE HE COULDN'T BEAR IT ANY MORE. THEY'RE ALL NOW DEAD. PLEASE STOP CALLING MY PHONE BECAUSE THEY WON'T ANSWER. THEY'RE DEAD. THE HUMANITY IS NO MORE. I KNOW THAT LONDON VENUES WILL BE WEEPING INTO THEIR LOST TILL RECEIPTS AND I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL FOR TURNING OUT IN YOUR THOUSANDS TO EVERY GIG THEY PLAYED BUT SADLY YOUR LOVE ALONE WAS NOT ENOUGH. THE MOTORCYCLE EMPTINESS WAS TOO MUCH AN THERE WASN'T ENOUGH MONEY AT NATWEST, BARCLAYS, HSBC OR LLOYDS TO CONVINCE THEM NOT TO END THEIR MUSICAL LIVES. long brown manics street, lived on some glasses.send no flowers

We were The Humanity, everything always got in our way, and tried to screw us over, but we dodged our way through it and always managed a good piss up.

We destroyed gigs. We destroyed other bands. We got to the heart of the matter. People used to be scared of our intense powers, but remember this was in thee olden dayes when all of this was nothing but marshamllow kisses and remembrance of kittens. We were like voodoo but in a more socially acceptable format than those shaman cards you uused to get given in South London tube stations. We thought that cigarettes make you pretty. We inhaled the carcasses of pop and indie and spat out the bones into a tidy pile. You didn't never used to see that very often in a pub now did you?

we were bored of music by idiots, for the idiots. pop used to be about intelligence, pop used to be about people with ideas, pop used to be everything it's not anymore. what's wrong with writing a tune? what's wrong with having something to say? what's wrong with having read a book? why did pop music have to be the sole preserve of a legion of moronic clones and x factor talent vacuums? fuck them. why did alternative music have to be about a bunch of wannabe barrowboys strumming tatty acoustics in the backrooms? the libertines were dead, get over it. in the past. and you were indoors now, take yr scarf off eh? in the season of ill will here's hoping that simon cowell went the same way as michael stipe didn't. we were better than an army of talentless wannabes. we were just better. full stop. we were the humanity. you weren't. find a good tailor. run off without paying. rock and roll is dead. we were better than rock and roll. if you were fed up of being spoon fed celebrity tat, if you wanted something that could make you believe again, if you wanted to stove davina mcall's stupidly inane face in with a brick then maybe you would've been in the right place. but you were too late. if you wanted a fanzine then you should bloody well write one. we sid wear something that makes you look good, have some gin if you wanted it, smoking made you pretty, set fire to a magazine, read a book, spraypaint a wall, burn down a billboard, cut yr neighbour's telephone, always remember that beneath the pavement lies the beach. fuck everyone who wasn't and will never be us. fuck the nme. kill yr idols.

We had a Facebook page.

GENERAL ENQUIRIES: - Please feel free to contact us through travelling back in time when we were a band and not a band that isn't any more.

We very much liked people getting in contact with us. We liked meeting new people, and talking about everything and hanging out and eating ice cream. We'd love to eat ice cream with you. or not. whatevs really. suit yrself.

with grateful thanks to Guided By Spiders for providing us with a totally excellent remix of hollywood. Check out his myspace page. One not to be missed.

"Everytime I heard The Humanity, it reminded me of death from above 1979, except better. The acidic driving bass lines captivate a certain drove as well as chewed out vocals which frankly, made them one of the best new bands out at the moment (ie not now but some time ago). I had never quite heard a sound like them, and the questions remains, why the hell aren't these guys signed?! (because they split up?) Pure sounds of electronic indie breach every song, like an artist making a painting. These guys were on the edge, noisy, and had essentially what is stream lined perfection. We love them, and we're sure you would have too. My advice is to download all their songs, give them a listen, slam them on your MP3, and travel back in time to one of their gigs!"
