Iggy wasn’t kidding when she said coming soon. The official video for her collab single with Ms. Rita Ora, “Black Widow” is here ya’ll and we’re bringing you all the highlights.
We were correct! The video is a total homage to Quentin Tarantino’s thriller flick, Kill Bill starring Uma Thurman. So the video starts out in a diner where Iggy works as a waitress and Rita comes in with her hella rude old boyfriend. It’s clear that he’s a total butt plug with an ego bigger than his beer gut because he is so bossy toward Rita and Iggy while she takes his order. Which brings us to highlight number 1! After the rude boyfriend throws a fit because he’s unhappy with his BLT, this woman working behind the counter straight up hops over the barrier to give him a piece of her mind and then begins to hit on him. Hilarious.
Number 2, is when Iggy and Rita become total badass assassins in the hunt to seek revenge on Rita’s good for nothing man. And then there’s this old guy who kinda looks like Mr. Miyagi from the Karate Kid. Number 3, is when TI makes an awesome unexpected cameo while Rita plays him in cards and wins of course. What up TI. Number 4, is this epic shot of Rita and Iggy getting their Harley Davidson on while riding two motorcycles that look like something straight out of fast and furious. Between the wind and the hair anf the Technicolor background lighting, I feel like I’m watching an anime videogame. Um number 5 I feel like is the definition of Iggy and Rita. It’s the moment when they team up, Charlie’s Angel’s style to fight the bad boyfriends little posy, who coincidentally are also of course trained ninjas. Because you know, everyone carries a samari sword with them 24/7. And number 6! This is when the bad guy is feelin’ all ballsy and thinks he’s won because he’s got a gun and then what crawls out of his sleeve in the nick of time? A Black Widow. Pun intended. It’s pretty perfect. The video ends with Iggy back in the diner chopping the crap out of some lettuce when our friend, Ms. counter hop, comes up to Iggy to tell her to stop massacring the protein.
This video is everything. Um and can we talk about how amazing Rita and Iggy look rockin’ those leather jumpsuits? Iggy even has pink/red hombre to match. Werrk.
