The Groovy Cellar

The Groovy Cellar, benannt nach einem Londoner Club der fr�hen 80er Jahre, d�rfte mittlerweile zu einer der dienst�ltesten Berliner Indie-Mod-Britpop-Bands z�hlen. Gegr�ndet 1991, hat die Gruppe um S�nger und Songwriter Olaf Schumacher im Laufe der Jahre diverse Ver�ffentlichungen vorgelegt, zuletzt 2008 die Single „When You Fly Away" auf dem Berliner Independent-Label Firestation Records. Live teilte sich die Band die B�hne bereits mit so unterschiedlichen K�nstlern wie Cleaners From Venus, Ian Brown (Stone Roses), Television Personalities oder Fehlfarben.

In their latest offerings The Groovy Cellar 7 inch - When You Fly Away / April Moon is definitely a must have and harkens back to the wonderful Soul Mod sounds of The Jam and The Truth (in the early years) and is a single that pure POP with both sides brilliant so you will have trouble figuring out which is the A side. das Publikum in Berlin sicherlich bestens zu unterhalten wissen.

Formed back in 1991 in Berlin, The Groovy Cellar soon became an ineradicable term within the German Indie-Pop-Mod-Scene by releasing their debut on Marsh-Marigold Records.
