Medina Rekic ist kein Neuling inder Musikszene, und das merkt man bei jedem Track des Debutalbums ihrer neuen Band The GlamourStreet. Doch wer denkt, TGS sei eine Fortsetzung der Finnan Haddocks mit anderen Mitteln, irrt gewaltig. Obwohl Jodi (Bass,Vocs), Joey (Drums) und Medina(Guitar, Vocs) selbst recht verschiedene Musikgeschmäcker pflegen, treffen sie sich irgendwo zwischen Placebo und Uh huh her. Und das hört man auch: Introducing the Famous ist tanzbar wie Not A Love Song (Uh huh her), undbedient sich einer kühl- erotischen Ästhetik wie Meds (Placebo). Der kaum überhörbare Synthiepop-Einfluss ergänzt Joeys straighte Beats um einen Schuss 80ies, der Introducing the Famous wahrscheinlich auch das Disco- Cover eingebracht hat. (vh)
The Glamour Street first crashed the music scene back in October 2006. The band is from Austria and played a lot of shows, in Denmark, Austria, Slovenia, Switzerland, Italy and Germany and shared the stage with so many talented artists and bands in the last years. At the moment they are working on their debut album which will be released in February 2009!
Medina, the dynamic female frontwoman, singer and guitarist, makes the audience go crazy with her soft and erotic, but also aggressive way of performing the songs, supported by a powerful and amazing drummer, Joey. He is what a drummer has to be like: exact and good looking and he shows the people how to fuck a drumset. Jodi, the bassist, singer and synth player, is a light hearted and fantastic musician, performing the live shows with a brilliant emission and he rounds up the hot trio.
