Those are the usual song topics covered by The Generators through their previous eight albums, starting with the 1997, now classic release "Welcome To The End" on the pioneering Triple X Records, through to 2011's "Last Of The Pariahs", the bands last album recorded for DC Jam Records.
While you can probably expect more of the same on the next album due out in 2013, founding members vocalist Doug Kane, and guitarist's Mike Snow & Sean Romin say that even after fifteen years of song writing, "there still is so much more to uncover from us". The Generators who were recently named by America's leading news publication, the US News as "The most underrated punk band in America" set out for tour dates this Autumn 2012 across the better part of the Western Region of The United States.
To those unknown, The Generators started in 1997, but Generators vocalist Doug Kane, and Mike Snow had there fair taste of crashing the stages dating all the way back to the early 1980's Los Angeles punk scene. Kane's first punk band Doug & The Slugs have been documented as the very first Oi-Punk anti –racist skinhead band on the West Coast of the United States. In 1983 The Slugs, were supporting other infamous Punk Bands like The Abandoned, Ill Repute, Mad Parade, and The Flower Leopards. Kane, Romin & Snow were also better known for their membership to the 1990's punk band Schleprock. They burned numerous tour vans into the ground driving all over the United States opening up for bands like Green Day, Rancid, Sublime, The Specials, NO-FX, and every other band that got caught up in the tidal wave of the 1990's punk explosion. By 1995 Schelprock briefly managed to have there moment of fame when they got picked up by Warner Brothers Records. They released there major label debut "Americas Dirty Little Secret" but within one year the minor success they had achieved took its toll, and half the band was strung out on drugs and in disarray. Schleprock became just another tombstone in the infamous punk graveyard.
In 1997,when all the dust settled Kane, and guitarist Mike Snow cleaned themselves off, and went and cut a 3 song demo tape which wound up in the hands of Los Angeles based Triple X Records. Triple X was better known for releasing Social Distortion's "Mommy's Little Monster", as well as Jane's Addiction's first self-titled release. It did not take long for things to get rolling for The Generators. Within the first six months the band was barnstorming back, and forth across the highways, and skyways. They quickly made a name for themselves with all the European punk fans, and slowly, but surely etched themselves into the main frame of the American punk audience. The Generators over a course of fifteen years have toured, or supported the likes of bands such as The Damned, Cock Sparrer, Anthrax, Bad Religion, Agnostic Front, & Stiff Little Fingers, just to name a few.
The Generators have also achieved to have their music appear on various Television & Radio commercials for The Los Angeles Lakers, the California Angels, a national radio add for The Corona Beer Company, and in 2008 their song "30 Seconds" was used for a national television commercial add sponsoring The Grammy Awards, which was viewed by over 4 million people. Over the course of 15 years they have put in their fare share of blood, sweat, and tears at earning a name for themselves. There is now a sense that the band has begun to really pay their dues, and is graduating to headlining tours and high profiled albums. The list of achievements for The Generators keeps expanding every year. In a little over a decade they have released 8 full – length albums, 2 EP's, 1 split E.P. with mid west rockers Riverboat Gamblers, and appeared on scores of compilations. The Generators have charted the American College radio charts, and continue to get played on Independent, Internet radio as well as Satellite radio stations like XM & Sirus on a monthly basis. Strangely enough, somehow it feels like they are just getting started. They always manage to stay in tune with their loyal fan base, as well as staying true to what they have always done, and that is producing quality underground melodic Rock N Roll Punk music.
