1939 Larson Brothers Prairie State Super Jumbo - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 10, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
1939 Larson Brothers Prairie State 19" Super Jumbo. Phenomenal guitar! Custom made for performer Jay Rich. A label inside the guitar
placed by August Larson reads:

" 7-21-39 CUSTOM BUILT FOR JAY RICH A. Larson, Chicago ser. #1552. "

This guitar was originally an "f" hole Larson style arch-top, but it was converted to a flat-top sometime in early 1960's by Jon Lundberg and Mario Martello of Berkeley, California. Lundberg replaced it using an old piece of spruce and reusing most of the top pearl. He also designed and crafted a new, and quite exquisite bridge. The cutaway is original and rare! Possibly the only one made by the Larson's. Beautiful curly Maple back and sides refinished light Walnut. Spruce top is scalloped X braced Martin style. Gold Grover tuners. Added strap pin on the heel. 5 very small back crack repairs. 60's hard shell case. Although this guitar is huge, it's light for its' size and sounds fantastic. Big, round, and warm.
