The Factory

The Factory opened for business in 2004 and has steadily been cranking out their own unique blend of southern style rock & roll ever since. The band originally started as a three piece, but over the course of the last couple of years has grown into a four piece. With Justin Smith writing all of the original material for the band, he also fronts them with his powerful vocals and rhythm guitar. Rob Voyles who joined in early 2008 backs the band with his guitar solos on lead guitar. Bud Russell who has played with the band off and on for the last 4 years now takes a permanent place as of late 2008, and Michael Fowlkes on Bass and Backing Vocals.
Recent songs in our playlist were recorded @ Elgin Crossroads Sound Studio in Northern Alabama. Brian Robertson is the sound engineer and has done a hell of a job. The band will be recording there off and on for the next year in between shows. In the past, The Factory recorded a five song demo with the help of Jim Gaines, predominately a guitar engineer and Tim Hinkley, who is a keyboard session player. These two men are very influential in the music industry since Jim has previously worked with Santana, Journey, and Steve Miller while Tim has had the opportunity to work with the likes of George Harrison and Van Morrison. The demo is played on both FUN 91.9 (Iuka, MS) and WKWX 93.5 (Savannah) . FUN 91.9 has been with The Factory since their first demo was completed in 2004 and their songs have been in rotation since then.The four new songs are being played on Wild 100.7 in Corinth MS, where they have sat in and did a couple of morning shows with Tic Tac and Ace.We thank those guys for having us and playing our music.
The Factory has appeared in publications such as the independent newspaper "The Burning Book" out of Martin, TN, "The Commercial Appeal" from Memphis, and their hometown newspaper "The Savannah Courier." The band has played all over their home state of Tennessee, and are now spreading into Northern Alabama & Mississippi.
