There are millions of bands in the world.millions of records having been made since 1970, but none have surpassed the depth and Spirit of "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" .

Eric Clapton and Bobby Whitlock were the primary writers of the songs, although Layla became the ultimate rock ballad of all time with a coda by Jim Gordon, Layla was and is really Eric's song.

Bobby's abilities as a singer/songwriter have never been focused on as much as they are in these present times . Time has given to the realization that Bobby Whitlock was as important to the overall making of Layla as was Eric .

True , you need great musicians , but without songs , with out the singers .all you you have is a band .

Truly gifted in the art of songwriting , Bobby encouraged and lifted Eric's thinking in regards to writing .

Afterall , Bobby had written some incredible songs including "Where There's a Will , There's a Way" which was a staple for Delaney & Bonnie's Live shows . "Thorn Tree in the Garden" , "Dreams of a Hobo" and more.

Derek & The Dominos gave Bobby and Eric that platform they needed to finally shine as frontmen ,Songwriters and Singers.

Together they made an incredible team writing memorable hits like "Tell the Truth", "Anyday" "Why does Love got to be so sad" and seperatly each penning their own landmark song of Love and its pain , "Layla" and "Thorn Tree in The Garden".

Young and exhuberant, Bobby Whitlock was living a dream, never taking for granted one moment the place where he now stood, Holy Ground, surrounded by the greats of the time.

Through the years there have tremendous ups and downs , but Bobby has ever remained a positive light in the world, keeping a sacred friendship with his old pal and never forgetting how far he has risen above the place from where he came yet having an understanding that it was exactly that which helped to form who he is today.

In September 2010 Bobby's Autobiography will be arriving in bookstores around the world, here he has had the opportunity to tell his story and share his feelings about a fantastic life from picking cotton to making one of the greatest records in Rock-n-Roll history with some of the greatest musicians of our time.
