The History:



Growing up in the Deep South Texas, the four band members have been performing together for over 17 years. They moved to Austin, Texas' "Live Music Capital of the World", in the early 90's to experience the music scene. As 'Rocinante' the band played within the Austin "jam scene" at venues such as The White Rabbit, Black Cat Lounge, Bates Motel and Steamboat (on 6th) among many others. After moving away from a vocal-centered and radio-friendly approach, the band began following a more instrumental path. This mindset allowed each member to more fully explore their musical potential and acquire a positive creative growth as a band. After taking a year off in 1999, the band regrouped in early 2000 to become known as The Earthtone Players.



The Present:



The Earthtone Players bring a fresh sensation of revamped, retro rock & roll from the late 60's and early 70's, to the world of music today. Melodic guitars with warm tone backed by buzzing bass and heavy backbeat drumming. The Earthtone Players are a potent blend of soulful and honest vocal-oriented rock & roll with a temperate Southern feel and unique hooks.
