When one thinks of the name DonJuan the first thoughts that come to mind are: womanizer and even street entrepreneur. Yet, one of the music industries most sought after threats is the only way to describe multifaceted music entrepreneur DonJuan Clark of The Don Entertainment.
Born DonJuan Clark this musical genius road to success is one that was set for him even before he was able to walk or talk. As a child he loved to listen too many of the industries top artist such as Whitney Houston and Babyface to name a few. As he grew he focused his talent on songwriting and sales. With experience in retail from many years of work at department stores and restaurants, and even leadership positions in the food service industry DonJuan knew that his life had bigger things in store.
In hopes of finding his place in the ever changing entertainment industry DonJuan in 2000, prior to entering college, started working with independent artist helping them development their work and image. His songwriting and artist development work helped achieve rave reviews for independent artist Tishea Smith, Tonya Owens, and Porsche Smith. With the help of DonJuan these talented artists careers landed them opportunities that people dream of. It earned their songs air play on North Carolinas number one urban radio station, performances at Madison Square Garden, studio work with Southern Christian artist, placement on 3 albums, and even a semi-final placement in Def Jams Rep Yo City contest. It also earned DonJuan the chance to work on songs for artist Kieran of Blackrain Records, tracks produced by Chad Elliot and Kris Haskins, and Ohio rapping sensation Jesty Beatz all of which soon made him an underground phenomenon.
Even though writing was something that he loved he soon focused fully on developing artists and publicity work. In 2002 DonJuan started working with Grammy Award Winning Songwriter/Singer Kandi Burruss formerly of the group Xscape. Kandis work earned her the top honor of becoming the first woman to receive the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Award for Songwriter of the Year and has helped her sell over 56 Million Records. DonJuans ear for success landed him the job of Publicity Manager for Kandi Koated Entertainment's Fan Club. His work ethic and dedication soon attracted the attention of other Atlanta names and lead him to work with choreographer extraordinaire DeVyne Stephens and Upfront Records, Atlantas urban heartthrobs, Threatboyz (Threat Music Group), R&B Quartet Eye Candy(Kandi Koated Entertainment), the young princesses of pop, Qt-Possie, and most recently established songwriter/singer Shamora Crawford (Monica, JLO, Teairra Mari) of Striker Records.
Now in 2007 as DonJuan feels he is finally ready to embark on the next step in his journey for success. With the creation of his company The Don Entertainment, DonJuan hopes his company can help take others careers to the next level.
