"Surprisingly fresh, at times teetering on the edge of that ever-elusive Brand New Sound" - A. Myers in The Pulse of The Twin Cities "They sounded like The Replacements if they had hired Stephen Malkmus as a guitarist; the songs started out fast and loud but sometimes got expansive and jangly and even a tad dissonant (in a good way) at times. It was, above all, fun as hell to watch. They were excited, the crowd was excited, their excitement made the crowd more excited and pretty soon everyone was dancing and, yes, singing along." - P. O'Brien at Howwastheshow.com "the band deftly mixes curveballs into their propulsive pop formula, occasionally slowing their insistent rhythms and allowing the songs to stretch out in interesting directions" - N. Dean in Pulse Twin Cities "I have a thing for the Debut and think they have released a spectacular first album." - Minneapolitan Music "The highlights keep coming: the propulsive 'So Far Away', the bouncy 'Floods in Prague', the singalong closer 'Castawayz. The whole record is a burst of guitar pop, so much so that your toe will likely not stop tapping." -Rift Magazine "Want some solid guitar and drums? A good, concise song to get your day started? Look no further, friend." -Regarding the song "Hey!" on Music For Robots music blog"These Madison, Wis. transplants spent '06 working out the set of surprisingly confident, catchy songs that show up on the band's debut album" - R. Raihala in Pioneer Press (Class acts of 2007)

"they've got an immediately appealing sound and know how to carry themselves on stage.I'm already looking forward to the day when their album hits my desk." - S. McPherson on HowWasTheShow.comYou should know: The Debut practices their music in a freezing cold basement so they light cigarettes to stay warm. They found a mysterious chest in which were a number of instruments. Their TV gets no reception so they read the classics and some current non fiction. The Debut goes out for happy hour 3 to 5 times weekly, which they acknowledge is more than they should. The Debut writes music constantly and have just released their first album. They are making pins, stickers, shirts and noise for you. The Debut gets all of its pleasure from playing live and therefore make the most of every performance. See them at their next show
