The Day I Snapped formed in late 2000. The current line up has been together since 2006, featuring: Alan Easton (lead vocals/guitar), Richie Bradford (lead guitar), Craig Brennan (drums/backing vocals) and Andy McFarlane (bass/backing vocals).
The Snapped have notched up an enviable amount of appearances with a veritable who's who of punk rock luminaries over the years. Their first show was opening for King Prawn at King Tuts in early 2001. They played on a memorable Punkorama bill with Bouncing Souls on September 11th, 2002. The band secured a noteworthy appearance at T in the Park in 2002 by somehow impressing the fickle judges and bypassing the politics! They've shared the bill with the likes of Jackson United, Nightmare Of You, Bowling For Soup, The Lawrence Arms(twice!), Down By Law, The Pavers, Story of the Year, Gameface, Leatherface, Piebald, Midtown, Billy Talent, Sense Field, Against Me!, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Strung Out(twice!), Gorilla Biscuits, Biffy Clyro(twice!), Blood Brothers, Moneen, Alkaline Trio, A Wilhelm Scream and many others, not forgetting playing a sold-out Glasgow SECC, Scotland's largest indoor arena (at 4 hours notice no-less!), with American giants The Offspring. They also achieved something that every Scottish band aspires to by playing at a packed out Barrowlands, opening for the All American Rejects in June 2006.
band have enjoyed some national radio exposure, including a live a session on Radio 1.
The 'Snapped have entered the studio 5 times to date. A 12 track album entitled Hooked On Disaster was completed in 2006, produced by former bassist Chris Gordon (now with Union Of Knives) and released on the UK label Lockjaw Records in October that year. Two songs from this debut, Start Again and History, were featured on the soundtrack of the Hollywood movie Loveless In Los Angeles.
The band returned to the studio to begin work on their second album, Tales Of Ordinary Madness, in March 2010 and by hook or by crook managed to complete it by July. They hope to release it in the autumn.
