We are back together to play more withThe Crimson Shadows again!Yep, the gig we did in Rimini in '08 made us wanna go back and do it again! It will not be the full original line-up, as that's just not possible. That said, it will sound like we always sounded! Fuzz, farfisa, snotty vocals, cocky attitude and cool threads. Back from the grave to raise hell up on stage once again! Turn on, tune in, punk out!

So what's the deal? Well we just had a band for a while, and it's fuckin cool that people still think of our stuff as groundbreaking for the whole garage scene. In some way we understood that already when we started - I mean we had mirrors so we could see that we looked cool haha. And almost everybody hated us in Stockholm so we knew we made an impact.

We started The Crimson Shadows because we wanted to play real 60's garage punk. Fuzz, farfisa/vox, tuff clothes, girls, partying and bad attitude was what we were into. We started writing our own songs much because we couldn't make covers sound any good. We soon realized that it's much cooler to write your own songs aswell and during the time we existed we had a healthy(?) competition trying to top each others efforts. We existed for little more than a year or maybe two (from late '84 to sometime '86) during which time we released two 45's, made a number of chaotic gigs and raised hell like the teenage misfits we were. Despite what the Swedeish press and some of the other bands thought, we were never about doing the pure retro thing. We were of course mainly inspired by US 60's garage as heard on Pebbles, Nuggets, BFTG + bands like 13th Floor Elevators, The Sonics, Chocolate Watchband and so on. But we were also influenced by The Cramps, Ramones, The Stooges, DMZ, Lyres, Flamin Groovies etc. I'd say that we were probably more of a logical step from the DIY scene of the late 70's but instead of being inspired by punk bands we took our cue from the punk rock of the 60's.

If you wanna get the really cool CD that Inbetweens Records released in 2000, with all 18 studio recordings we did, ya got a direct link here! They still have copies.
