The Brogues

The Brogues, formed in March 2007, came about as a result of various drunken chats, love of the same kind of music, mutual friends and acquaintances, Gretsch guitars and quite possibly fate, if you believe in that sort of thing.
Ronnie and Marc had toyed with the idea of getting a band together but things were never quite right and there was always that missing piece of the puzzle. Ronnie had met Sean and Boon at various local gigs throughout 2006 and had started discussing the possibility of forming a band but again nothing came of things until early in 2007.
Sean and Boon had been playing with local band Rising Signs but when things started to break down, they decided it was time for a fresh start. They were introduced to Marc via Ronnie and after an instant connection of the four and a few well-played rehearsals, the Brogues were born.
In the short time The Brogues had been together, they had played a huge amount of gigs while regularly supporting acts such as The View, The Rascals, The Metros, Stiff Little Fingers and The Dead 60's.
They had also played in various top class venues up and down the country and in places as diverse as Glasgow's Barrowlands and King Tuts, The Forum in London, Manchesters Virgin Megastore, Edinburgh's Picturehouse, Liverpools Korova and Dundee's own Caird Hall.
