The town of Hinton, Alberta Canada is normally known for its scenic view of the Rockies and noxious smelling air from its pulp mill. But now it’s time to fess up to its greatest accomplishment of all, the spawning ground of the Blame-its.
For over decade now, twin brothers Tye (singer/bassist) and Trav (singer/guitarist) along with drummer Chrispy have been honing their sound into the tight melodic fury. Although the spunky young trio moved to Edmonton in 2003, for six years they cut their teeth playing and organizing punk shows in their hometown, helping put Hinton on punk rock’s musical map.
Since moving to Edmonton the Blame-its have been gigging and touring furiously. They have booked, drove, rocked, and lived through nearly a dozen tours within Canada as well played local support shows with such punk greats as Chixdiggit,Real Mckenzies,Against Me,and Mad Caddies.
Over the years The Blame-its have formaly released two CDs. In 2004 Freeze My Brain Full Lenth on their own Balrackords and 2006 Shoot The Shit EP on AMP records in Hamilton, and have released a 7 inch split and brand new 12 inch full lenth on Edmontons ES&D records. For all of these recordings The Blame-its have made the trip to Burnaby B.C. to work with engineer Jesse Gander , who has helped make each release unique and different from the last.
January 2007 The Blame-its celebrated 10 years of playing together. Shortly after deciding to refresh their line up with Marco West (Blacklisted) as their new drummer, and Chrispy dropping the sticks to step up front and fill out their sound on rhythm guitar.
Spending over a year penning new tunes and touring hard with the new four piece line up, The Blame-its booked time in November 2008 at the Hive to lay down their finest recording to date. Thirteen band new tracks, for an anticipated February 2010 release on vinyl and downloadable formats.
